I truly love Iceland. Of the many places I have visited, this was one that I had longed to visit for some time and it did not disappoint. I fell in love with it and would go back in a heartbeat. Iceland has so many awe-inspiring landscapes. The slogan is 'WOW!' and I wholeheartedly agreed.
This particular view is not the typical view when one thinks of Iceland, but I had just read the book by Sally Magnusson 'Dreaming of Iceland', which told the tales of her father Magnus Magnusson and his family in Iceland and Laxamÿri featured heavily.
I don't do many plain acrylic paintings, but every now and then something calls me to make one. This was one of those (And yes the sky really was that blue). Called simply 'Laxamÿri' it is acrylic on canvas H55.5 x W46cm £120. I also have a few A6 cards with this image available at £3 each.
